While the NASCAR Whelen Modified Voyage would be worse off if Bobby Santos III does not find a ride for the 2012 opportunity ripe, Santos' career is still looking pretty promising.
Santos, of Franklin, won the 2010 championship in his first full flavour on the Tour. His 2011 campaign was a tad disappointing, although he did win a championship in his primary bet - driving asphalt midgets on the USAC national circuit.
That versatility is what attracted car proprietor Tommy Baldwin Jr. to Santos a few years ago. Baldwin inked Santos to a driver improvement deal, and the biggest step in that agreement will come in July. Santos has signed on to energy the Tommy Baldwin Racing machine in the NASCAR Nationwide Series happening at Daytona International Speedway, the team announced Wednesday . Santos and man up-and-comers Ryan Truex and Ryan Blaney will share membership time.
As for the Tour side of Santos' career, the Hartford Courant's Shawn Courchesne reports that is still in limbo. Bob Garbarino, possessor of the famed No. 4 "Mystic Missile," is still uncertain of what he plans to do this season.
