Audi unveils open-top version of R8 model line
German extravagance carmaker Audi has unveiled the R8 GT Spyder, the open-top version of the exorbitant performance sports car R8 GT Coupé.
The company said that just 333 of R8 GT Spyder will be built on pointed orders with an individual number on the gear lever, according to Firth Times.
The 5.2-litre V10 engine with an aluminium crankcase draws its food from an FSI direct injection system and develops 560 hp and 540 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, with its modified electronic command.
The Audi R8 GT Spyder has an Audi ten-cylinder engine that accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speediness of 317 km/h.
The R8 GT Spyder weighs 1,640kg and features a lightweight make-up soft top that is quiet and fully suitable for highway cruising, and the roof can be raised or lowered in 19 seconds.
Audi R8 GT Spyder will be supplied on the foundation of customer order only. Five units have already been ordered and are due to arrive in March.
