Acura to Advance with New “Man Machine Synergy” Brand Strategy
After a dark last year, Acura has hit the restart button, introducing three new concept cars at the North American Supranational Auto Show and planning more to come. In Detroit, Acura showed off the defective-generation RDX , the new ILX compact sedan and the NSX Concept . Later this year the Honda grandeur division will unveil its next-generation RL at the NY Auto Show.
To go with the new product and a host of new technologies, Acura has a new maker strategy which it is calling Man Machine Synergy. The philosophy is a development of the Honda principle: man maximum, machine minimum. The idea, says Honda Canada head vice president Gerry Chenkin is that, “When man and machine tack, the extraordinary happens.”
The new brand strategy was born out of the 2008 fiscal crisis that claimed the previous NSX concept explains Chenkin at an Acura policy meeting at Honda Canada headquarters. Chenkin explained how at that conditions a dramatic change occurred in the industry, away from conspicuous consumption and towards more keeping for the environment by luxury buyers – particularly new ones.”The events made us refocus on what we wanted to do,” he said, and the failed NSX concept car, “digressed into the block of heavy vehicles,” and wasn’t, “a commodity unique to Acura DNA.” That said it, “would not have been able to over the kind of performance that Acura really speaks to,” using, “the latest technology, not incontrovertibly the largest engine.

BMW unveiled its latest concept car known as the BMW Gran Coupé Concept during the 2010 Beijing Auto Show in April. This 4-door coupe is intended to fit in the channel between the 5 and 7 Series. Although a radically new replica for BMW, it retains the company’s signature elements including the twofold-kidney grille, the shark nose, and the Hofmesiter deformity at the fag-end windows. The chic coupe roofline is 4 inches lessen than the roofline of either the 5 or 7 Series, and the after a long time of the car is only 3 inches shorter than the 7 Series.
