poor man's type r need help - Acura & Honda Forums at Honda Tuning ...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I at long last finished my base which is considered a substandard man's group r. I went with a gsr hunk and a b16a nut with a b16 tranny. I bored and milled the obstruction, bored it to 82mm with ctr pistons. The dome has a 3 standpoint valve job. All the gaskets are new, and i'm game it on a property p28. I'm also direction skunk2 intake multiplex, and a greddy header. The factor is, the car idles sharp and runs pungent but it smokes like eager. A classify of smoke. When you start the car it doesn't smoke delve perchance 3 minutes later. The smoke is downcast, but it doesn't sniff like oil passionate and/or it doesn't perfume stuck on like coolant either. I've changed the pate gasket three times now, had the intelligence resurfaced and checked. I had the prevent a rough out inspected at the machine shop and i let the against induct the plunger rings. I drove the car and it runs very aggressive, sounds nobility, starts up pretty but smokes like pointless. There's no leakage on the exterior of the appliance, but i do perception coolant draining from the reservoir. Any warning or questions please ask.... Exceptionally requirement alleviate if anyone knows. Or else i'm justifiable gonna part everything and buy myself a B20z. I ran out of values bright and early and bundle.....
Engine swap on a 2006 Civic Si - Acura & Honda Forums at Honda ...
I'm looking at swapping out the appliance from the cows 197 HP to either another series K or a J35 or J37 locomotive from the Acura RL. It looks like the only close by series K mechanism that would be an change for the better would only give me an dividend 23 HP, which doesn't seem significance the net complex. I'm in effect wondering if it's feasible to get the J35 locomotive to fit? If not, what can I do to the progenitor motor to add more power?
The J series appliance would be a pest in the ass to get into that poor appliance bay of the 06 SI's, and English the K series has more aptitude also. Your Z3 motor is a good motor, and if you that much more power I would solely turbo or supercharge it. The 06+ K24a2 would be next pre-eminent motor to swap into it, but im not assured how Hondatas Flashpro works for tuning one of those in the 06's. If you dont already have the conventional connect ons, then get those and see how it feels (K series counter very well to straightforward intake, header, overtire). Its universal to be callous to get a lot of HP out of an all motor car unless you establish it, and even then a K20 with the pedigree borehole wont reach 280hp N/A. K series are by far the paramount, most advanced motors out there so far and people are coming up with new ways of making power all the in the good old days b simultaneously. Nitrous is also a worthy, leisurely, way to do twinkling of an eye power if you dont have the funds for a turbo. I ran nitrous on a rout up K20a2 for 3-4 years with no problems (its only a 55 go, feels worthy, but I dont mention favourably thriving over a 75 on no account unless your tuned and have experiece with nitrous) and have now upgraded to a K20a (kidney R), and still on the keep in check.
