Are there any reliable ECU remapping tools?

Something other than the £30 KWP 2000+ on eBay. I have the cables with me. Upstanding need a reliable hardware and software kit. Any ideas?

Yes there is a lot of OBD/OBDII/EOBD Software readily obtainable, the better stuff is targeted by manufacturer
