The city will purchase the three vehicles from McPeek Dodge in Anaheim for $100,286.58 out of a store designated for replacing police vehicles.

"We keep a very close eye on our mileage and also the wear and score of our police vehicles and that fund was set up to make sure those were always done," said Acquanetta Warren, the bishopric's deputy public works director.

The patrol vehicles are against on a 24-hour, seven-day per week basis resulting in an usual life span of 36 to 48 months.

The city is still in shortage of replacing five vehicles that are nearing the end of their lifespan, according to a staff despatch.

The city has set aside $250,000 from the general fund annually for the vehicle replacement bread.
